A product for a shop listing, an apartment, a restaurant, a villa, a venue. The job underneath is always the same. The picture has to make someone stop scrolling. That is the whole of it, and I do all of it myself. Same hands from the first message to the final file.
I was studying aviation before any of this, and came out of it with top grades and a clear sense that it wasn’t for me. So I went and looked elsewhere, and a few different industries later I’d picked up a bit of everything.
The one thing that never really changed is that I’m analytical about most things. I like taking something apart to understand why it works, or why it doesn’t.
Somewhere along the way I started paying attention to how property gets shown here. Holiday lets and rentals especially. Good places, photographed in a way that does them no favours, and nothing much stopping it being done better.
StageCraft came from putting those two things together. Working out a scene is exactly the kind of problem I enjoy: where to stand, what to move, what the light is doing, what to leave out. I wanted to do it properly, with a more modern approach than most of what’s around here. It’s a small setup, so decisions are quick and the work stays personal.
